Fragments

"Fragments" is an animation in which various anonymous figures are constructed and deconstructed out of thick, abstract shapes in black and white. A major focus is the body, its social value, and its processes of signification, as figures join, meld, and separate. Throughout, Zellen employs the active gaze as a catalyst for transformation.
