Visualizations

From folios of floppy disks and jewel cases of CD-ROMS of early born-digital literary work to objects used by artists for performances or for creating their work, The NEXT holds physical media and objects donated to or collected by ELO. To make them accessible to visitors of this virtual space, we have created them as 3D models that can be interacted with or as turntable videos that can be viewed.

Additionally, visitors will find numerous digital visualizations to aid with understanding the breadth and depth of The NEXT collections.

Deena's Pinwheel

This pinwheel, from The Deena Larsen Collection, was hand-made by Larsen in the 1990s for teaching readers about hypertext writing. The blades features colorful designs and lines of a poem written by the artist.

Gifted to ELO, 2021

bleuOrange, the influential journal sponsored by le Laboratoire NT2 et Figura à L'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), sent this cup and card to ELO as a gift in 2021 when ELO hosted its archives in The NEXT.
