ELO Archives

The ELO Archives includes a wide range of physical and digital materials collected over the years by the Electronic Literature Organization. Organized into five collections of selected materials from the 23 boxes of ephemera, historical media, recordings, scholarship, and works, the ELO Archives reflect the founding and development of not just the organization but the field of born-digital art as it has unfolded in the early digital age.

This category of The NEXT goes far to experiment with co-mingling physical and digital archival material. Visitors will find 3.5-inch floppy disks, CD-ROMs, MiniDVs, audio cassettes, among other once popular formats displayed with scanned printed documents (i.e., announcement cards, posters, conference programs) and documentation of scholarly texts. As much as possible, media formats are visualized in 3D to showcase these forms to a new audience unfamiliar with them.
