The Human Mystery

"The Human Mystery" is "A vision of extinction in an apocalyptic age." -- Alan Bigelow, from Webyarns.com

Experiencing the Work

"Visitors click "begin" to access the piece. It is necessary to click and drag a slider along a timeline in order to experience the narrative as intended. When the slider reaches certain points marked on the timeline, narrative elements (visual and textual) will load in a rectangle and begin playing background music and/or ambient sounds. Visitors navigate with arrows and occasionally click on words in the text. None of these controls are available by keyboard, and the text is not available to screen reader software. Some images flash on the screen in certain narrative sections; they are usually quite low in contrast, but flash rapidly. Some images appear and disappear quickly, so they are difficult to see."
