Töte das Gedicht (Kill the Poem)

"Johannes Auer is an artist from Stuttgart, Germany."

"Kill the Poem is a German visual poem created by Johannes Auers in 1997. The poem is a combination of the same seven words, and the readers are encouraged to click the gun on the left to 'kill' the poem. With each shot, one word is taken away from the poem entirely, leaving gaps among the words that are left. In this way, new possibilities of meaning are created through the connections made in the mind of the reader. The act of destruction also becomes the act of creation. Translation to English by Qianxun Chen." -- from Electronic Literature Collection, Volume 3
