Invention (CyberPoetry)

"Invention (Cyberpoetry) is a minimalist visual work that requires the movement of the mouse cursor to reveal the words that constitute it. Zervos uses sounds and animations to create interesting poetic effects." -- from ALN NT2

"Komninos Zervos was born in Richmond Victoria in 1950.  His family had come from a small Greek island named Kastellorizo. Michael Mangos, Komninos's maternal grand-father, came to Australia in 1908 to work in an uncle's cafe in Kalgoorlie.

From 1985 to 1995 Komninos was a professional performance poet, touring all over Australia performing and conducting creative writing workshops at schools and in the community.

Since 1993 Komninos Zervos has been creating text works for the multimedia computer. In 1995 he undertook a research Masters in creative writing and produced a CD-Rom of multimedia poetry which he called CyberPoetry.

From 1992 to 1999 Komninos taught creative writing as a sessional lecturer at various universities in Queensland and NSW. In 1999 Komninos was appointed to convene the newly created CyberStudies major in the School of Arts BA program at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

In 1998 Komninos received funding from the Oz Council and ANAT to attend a residency in London. The CD_Rom CyberPoetry Underground is a 3D textual journal through the London Underground. It was put online in 2005." -- from komninos.com.au
