e[y]gg[e]

"e[y]gg[e]" is "a meditation about time and space on the net and elsewhere." Of the work, Strasser writes "To create this piece I bought this little webcam which I nick-named eggeye (but as you see in the title the eye is standing on the top). Working with a webcam reveals one theme - the experience of the Net itself. Some pictures are collected from public webcams all over the world. Other parts, photos and micro-video-clips are captured with a dv-cam. Thoughts about film (movie) on the Net, the kind of presentation and (changing) reception suggest additional themes" ("Reiner Strasser Art). It should be noted that the version with the Japanese introduction ("About") text was created for the AJAC 2000 show at the Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo, 2000. The translation was produced by Shouichi Tanaka.
