"David Crawford (1970-2009) studied film, video, and new media at the Massachusetts College of Art and received a BFA in 1997.
A series of Web-based music videos for music composed by both Missing Persons and The Ramones (I Am Not an Animal) and by the legendary 80's post-punk band, Joy Division (Dance to the Radio). Each of the videos is dynamically generated out of 50 images that are randomly sequenced every time a composition is viewed. For each video, there are well over 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, possible sequences. In regard to the use of their songs, it is my hope that this project will generate interest in these bands (their music being for sale in many places, both on and offline). The stock photography was purchased for a nominal fee from a service called ArtToday.com. I would also like to acknowledge the work of both Colin Moock and the Flash Media Team at MSN.com for inspiring the video interface." -- from Turbulence
