"Catherine D'Ignazio, a.k.a. kanarinka, is a researcher, artist and software developer who investigates how data visualization, technology and new forms of storytelling can be used for civic engagement. This description refers to kanarinka's first Studio piece, 'Color Stories: Yellow.'

kanarinka is intimately concerned with collage, juxtaposition, and sampling; and the WAYS we can sample, or RULES we can make up about sampling raw data that will yield a dynamic and aesthetically coherent work of art.
