Aleph Null

An engine for creating unique images and animations, Aleph Null is a masterwork by Jim Andrews that, as a tool, uses open-source Web languages for opening up a world of creativity for its audience. As a work of generative art, it pushes the boundaries of participation and poetics.

Experiencing the Work

The piece presents a title before fading in to the main content. Colors generate on the screen in a variety of patterns that move independently or, if the visitor desires, track cursor movement around the screen. The menu of controls sits in an HTML table. Control sliders may be clicked and dragged or targeted by keyboard and changed with some effort. All textual content, excluding tool-tips, is accessible by screen readers.
