  • Hyper Trance Fiction Headset
  • Created by Stefan Schemat for Kate Pullinger, babel, & Schemat's The Breathing Wall
  • 2004-2005

Created by Stefan Schemat for The Breathing Wall, the Hyper Trance Fiction (HTF) headset and software offer a highly innovative method for navigating a hypertextual work: It responds to reader's breath while they read the narrative. Readers position the headset's armature beneath the nose and while they breath, they are able to access a part of the story depending on the intensity of their breath. This headset is an early version packaged with one of two copies of the work Grigar purchased for her collection following The Breathing Wall premiere in July 2004.
